Planning Project - The Game Plan
I tell you one thing for free, I’ve typed and backspaced the beginning of this blog feature far too many times than I can count! It’s been so amazingly difficult putting into words just how fabulous the first Planning Project Workshop truly was and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to empower and inspire more couples than we can count on our hands to progress with planning their best day ever - Their dream New Zealand Wedding.
A Bride of mine once pulled me aside during cocktail hour and said ‘Can you hear the buzz in the air? That’s the sign of an amazing event’ - I’ve carried that with me ever since and it was ever so present this past Sunday as we took our couples through exactly how to create their wedding Game Plan.
We set out to make not just a Christchurch Wedding Planner, or a Canterbury Wedding Planner accessible - but a planner available wherever you are. Some of our couples were well down the planning track and wanted to ensure their focus and priorities were in check, one couple wasn’t even engaged yet and some were yet to find their dream Canterbury Wedding Venue. Planning Project really is just as we say; it’s for everyone. Planning Project content has been specifically designed to be applicable to you, wherever your New Zealand Wedding may be.
Lapping up the urban oasis that is The Welder Events Space, guests walked in and instantly swooned over the stunningly modern styled table brought to life by The Little Hire Company and paired with a semi-custom stationery suite of the sweetest pastel mash of hues from Smitten With Love, of which behind admiringly hung an intricate flora creation dotted in fairy lights by The Flower Press. We kicked off our workshop with the basics, the ‘what, where, who and when’ and as we progressed, dove into the ‘why’ and ‘how’. We showed our couples just how they could think outside the box and step outside the cookie-cutter mould of a traditional wedding by asking a range of questions aligned with the things they love most within their lives and lifestyles.
Sprinkled through our workshops we were taken on an informative journey with our guest speakers, Caitlin Marett - Celebrant, Hannah Crisp - Caterer, and Hannah Bird & Craig Forster - Photographer and Videographer.
Half time saw us sip and graze on delectable, bite-sized morsels from Crisp and Vale away to the magical sound of Corner Sounds Band duo, a perfect option for live ceremony music. Couples mixed, mingled and asked us a whole flurry of questions that gave us the opportunity to provide specific, tailored advice and suggestions - An opportunity we had again in the final minutes of the workshop experience.
Whatever stage our couples left at, they departed Planning Project empowered to pursue their next steps. Whether that was knowing what to look for when searching and viewing Canterbury Wedding Venues, working out their budget and priorities, learning how to go through the quoting process effectively and efficiently or simply uncovering what, when they close their eyes and truly feel, their dream New Zealand Wedding looks like, our take-home resources and wedding planning folder now act as a bible to keep them on track and help refocus during times of overwhelm.
