It’s no secret that your girl here is a bit partial to solid hair and beauty products and services so I thought I’d put my blogger hat on and bring a little Best of Beauty for 2019 to your screen. Whether you’re getting married and are looking to splurge a little, or you’re just looking for some new holy grails to add to your routine - There’s guaranteed to be something in here for you.
Let’s kick off with my Old Loves that are forever a staple

Cloud Nine Original Iron Hair Straighteners - These babies are going just as strong as the day I first unboxed them and I’m so glad I made the call to purchase! I can do everything and anything with these things, and probably could even iron my clothes if I wanted to!
Face
Oxygen Skincare Creme Cleanser - I’ve been going strong with this cleanser for a few years now and it is just incredible! Lasts forever, a little truly goes a long way and it’s so gentle around the eyes. Plus, for a natural product, it effortlessly takes away any super glam look I wear and that in itself deserves a medal!
Mecca To Save Face SPF 50+ Superscreen - A staple in my little kit, Mecca sunscreen is so beautiful to apply and always at hand. Plus, it’s pretty affordable which is a huge bonus!
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer - I’m into my second year of this stuff and I absolutely love it! Still not 100% sold on the cleanliness of the applicator but hey, I’m only using it on myself!
Body
Sugar Cube Co. Scrubs - I’ve been on this buzz since the early days of Christchurch Weddings and have never looked back, it’s not only my secret to hydrated skin (cue too lazy to moisturise) but it’s become a bit of a self-love ritual, especially throughout my pregnancy and postpartum experiences. The GRIT range is freaking epic for removing tan and scrubbing away at nasty, dry skin and it leaves a beautiful film of nourishing goodness. I love it, and I hope you do too!
Hair
Evo Fabuloso Blonde Platinum Colour Boosting Treatment - You’ll never go back once you get on this bandwagon! It’s the only purple product I use at home to maintain my blonde and it’s truly all I need! I often use it weekly in damp hair leaving it in for 15 minutes, or if I’ve skipped a week I’ll work it into my dry hair and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing off. This product is legit, yo.
O&M Hydrate and Conquer Range - Again, I’ve been using this range for absolute years now and love everything about it from the caramel scent to the fact it actually hydrates my mane beautifully. You need it in your life.
Olaplex Hair Perfector #3 - For me, this stuff is best served as an overnight mask because I’m always short on time! So on goes a towel to my pillow and I just wash it off the next morning to make my hair feel soft and nourished again. Probably more of a monthly thing for me (because lazy) but I really should do it more with summer just around the corner!
Davines Oi Oil - As soon as I’ve towel dried my hair, this beautiful oil goes on and it’s become part of my routine for a couple of years now. I like to think it acts as a mild heat protectant, but I do ultimately notice a difference in how easy my hair is to brush out if I don’t use it from time to time.

The Glow Cloth - Created by the ‘03s own Kendal from KM Makeup, this magic cloth is the answer to all of your makeup removing prayers. You’ll never use a makeup wipe again and the microfibre technology removes even the most glam of looks! For my day-to-day I just run it under a warm tap, then over my face, then if I have a lot of makeup on I’ll do the above and then pop a little cleanser on my mug and use the second side to do the double cleanse. It’s amazing, and great for the environment too - Just pop it in the wash each week!
GHD Curve Classic Wave Wand - I purchased this off Graceful Hair Art a couple of months ago and although my arm gets sore doing my hair, it’s worth the result for those beautiful waves I can create!
Face
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream - I joined the cult and I’m sold. Just purchased my second bottle and it’s just such a nice product to use!
Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream - I never wake up with bags after using this Vitamin C infused cream, and a little goes such a long way!
Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti Pollution Sunshine Drops - Paired with Mac Strobe Cream, this stuff is a match made in heaven and my porcelain skin only ever requires the tiniest dollop to bring some colour to my face. A thousand times over, it’s worth the investment! It also makes for a really nice liquid bronzer if you dare try it!
Kiehls Lip Buttermask - As soon as I got this I ditched my long-time friend Blistex Intensive Care. My lips were so painfully dry and cracked about two months ago and when my Blistex did nothing, this product became my saving grace. For a lip balm, it’s probably on the pricey side, but I’ve barely made a dent in it and there’s no question about it - I will be repurchasing.
Clinique Even Better Glow Foundation - I chose this over double wear earlier this year and do not regret it one bit! This foundation has taken over my Nars All Day Luminous which has been a solid favourite for two
Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask - A little goes such a long way and I’m still getting through my mini pottle about four months on! I apply a thin layer and sleep in this mask probably twice a week and the next day my skin just feels so damn good!
Nimue Environmental Shield SPF 50 Sunscreen - This stuff is practically odourless, it’s so lightweight and a little goes a long way - Everything you need in a facial sunscreen. You can pick it up from Merivale Health and Beauty.
Nimue Pre and Post Serum - I drink at least three litres of water every single day and do you think I can get enough hydration to my skin? I’ve been on this serum buzz for a month now and while it’s still early days, I’ve been complimented by beauticians, makeup artists and friends who are all saying just how much more hydrated and glowy my skin is. Body
Bondi Sands Aero Liquid Gold - I’d generally run a mile from a tanning product with a colourless application, but I couldn’t believe my eyes when it developed and I didn’t look like a mouldy orange! But seriously, this tanning solution just keeps getting better because there’s no waiting around to have it develop and wash off - There is no washing needed! Perfect for anyone in a hurry, I just throw mine on a couple of hours before an event and I am good to go!
Hair
Kevin Murphy Doo Over - My new favourite hair spray. This stuff is good, it doesn’t make your hair go crispy and it holds my waves in for absolute days.
Evo Haze Styling Powder - Step aside dry shampoo, this stuff is the literal saviour to getting through that extra day where you should really have washed your hair two days ago but are feeling far too lazy, or if you just need some extra va-voom to your doo.
Treatments
Thermal Detox Facial from Merivale Health and Beauty - I’ve had this treatment three times now and every single time I’m complimented on my skin for a solid week straight afterwards. The Thermal Detox mask works itself into this crazy bubbling foam which heats up and has the most incredible sensation feeling like it’s sliding all over your face. It’s another Nimue product and one that I’d say will end up on my ride or die list very soon!
